About Mrs.
Polzin Welcome! My
name is Laura Polzin, and I teach seventh and eighth grade social studies.
This is my fifteenth year of teaching. Previously, I taught in Salem,
Massachusetts and in Washington, D.C. I am originally from Newington,
Connecticut. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University in
Hamilton, New York and my Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons College, in
Boston. I've taught a variety of subjects including social studies, language
arts, high school art, and high school technology. I have very
high expectations for all of my students. I look forward to guiding them in
academic growth, gaining cooperation skills, and building self-confidence. In
social studies in the 7th and 8th grades, we operate
using a philosophy approach in the classroom. This is based upon the idea
that education is a partnership with roles for students, teachers, and
parents or guardians. In general, if students try their best and are respectful
to themselves, others, and their surroundings, they will meet success. I am looking
forward to this school year. If you have any special questions or concerns,
please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached here at the school at
the following number: 679-5632, extension 126. My email address is: lpolzin@nottingham.k12.nh.us L. Polzin, 2012 - 2013 |
