Orientation for the ninth graders will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The primary purpose of the orientation program is to acquaint new students with the building, their schedules, and the DHS community.  Students should retrieve their welcome packet in the café when they arrive.  At 8:00 a.m. the freshmen will be joined by DHS Student Ambassadors to kick off orientation. 
On the first day of school all students will report to their Advisory at 7:40 am.  Most returning students will be in the same advisories while freshman will receive their advisory assignment at Freshman Orientation.  Advisory assignments will also be posted in the cafeteria and outside the main office.
Bus Transportation for freshmen on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 will be provided for all bus students from Barrington, Dover and Nottingham.  Buses will run their normal routes and pick up students at their established stops.  Students will be dismissed at noon and will be transported home to their respective stops at the end of the abbreviated day.
All students return to school on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 and pickup will occur at their regular a.m. bus stops.  The high school doors will open at 7:00 a.m. and school will begin at 7:40 a.m.  Dismissal will be at 2:30 p.m.
The first day of school for all Dover High School Alternative Program students is August 30, 2017. School begins at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.
